CHARACTERS

Your characters can be anything you like such as people, animals, imaginary creatures or even objects. Each character must be made from card or paper.

 

You must design two characters.

 

Produce a 2D design for each character. You MUST use vector tools to produce the outline.

 

Each design can consist of one or more parts. It must:

• fit on an A4 sheet
• be drawn to actual size
• use at least three colours
• show folds, cut lines and areas to be glued
• show the position of all other graphical elements such as patterns, facial features, etc
• include clear instructions on how to assemble each character.

Print each design on an A4 sheet and ask a test user to make your characters. Observe the test user and ask yourself:

• do the instructions make sense?
• are the characters easy to make?
• do your designs work?
• what can you do to improve the drawings or instructions?

Make any necessary changes to your designs.

 

Save your designs in your kit folder.

 

Update your design log and your elements table.

 

Answer the Characters questions in your review.
