Now that you have decided what promotional items are needed, you must investigate how much they would cost and how the team might pay for them.

Perhaps you need to sell some items such as T-shirts to pay for freebies. Perhaps you need to hold a sponsored event to finance your promotional items. How about a raffle or a car wash? The list is endless but you must stay focused on the purpose.

Individual

You must create a spreadsheet model for your chosen items. It must allow the team to ask 'what-if' questions such as:

what if we need more items
what if we buy better materials to attract attention
what if we use a different supplier
what if we find a way of raising more money to pay for items
what if we can't raise funds
what if we do some printing in-house
what if we buy in bulk.

Produce your spreadsheet model. You need to think about:

how you can reduce the likelihood of errors
how you can prevent the model from being altered
how you want the output presented
how to make it easy for others to use.

Test your model using test data and a calculator.

Ask other members of your team to try out your model. Make changes where necessary.

Save your spreadsheet model for your eportfolio. It must be in a working format that allows the moderator to try it out.

Make sure that the moderator can see both the values and the formulae. You may need a separate file.

Update your project diary.
