MARKET RESEARCH

You must carry out market research to find out whether the idea would work.

You need to find out about:

• what they think of your idea for a product
• what they would prefer it to look like or do - for example, perhaps they would like a personalised product
• how much they are prepared to pay
• where and when the product should be sold

As well as internet research you could interview potential customers, present your idea to a focus group or conduct a survey or straw poll.
