How do I get good marks?

  • Find some secondary sources of your own, don't just use the ones given.
  • Make sure that all the information you choose is useful for your project.
  • Make good use of primary sources.
  • Capture your own images or sounds.
  • Test your methods of data capture.
  • Make sure that the data you gather is valid (is actually worth something and is about energy conservation).
  • Make a note of your information sources.
  • Acknowledge copyright.
  • Make use of your plan.

What will lose me marks?

  • If you need help to find your information.
  • If you only use the information and links provided.
  • If you capture data that is not relevant.
  • If you do not keep a record of all your secondary sources.
  • If you don't back up your work.
  • If you save your files with silly names or names with don't make them immediately recognisable. Examples of poor naming would be doc1 or mystuff or polly's work.
  • If all of your secondary sources are exactly the same as someone else's.
  • If all your primary research methods and results are the same as someone else's.
  • If you make up your primary search results instead of going out and getting the information.
