PAPER IT - Pattern design

You must design the wallpaper for your zone. It must be a repeating pattern which is appropriate for your chosen user group and theme.

 

It is NOT acceptable to produce a hand-drawn design or to include any hand-drawn elements. Here are some ideas to start you off.

 

Design an original pattern for your wallpaper. It must:

• be created using only digital tools
• be an accurate scaled design
• work on standard wallpaper width (530 mm)
• work as a repeat pattern both horizontally and vertically
• reflect the theme of the zone

Ask suitable test users to view the design on screen and give you feedback. Make any necessary changes.

 

Make sure the design works as a repeating pattern, both horizontally and vertically. You can do this on-screen or by printing it.

 

Save your original pattern design in your Chillout folder.

 

Create an image showing that the design works both horizontally and vertically. It must use four repeats of your pattern design (2 x 2).

 

Save the image for your eportfolio.

 

Update your elements table and your design log.

 

Update your ongoing plan and your project log.
