There are many organisations in the UK for young people. One of the aims of the new Make Space Club will be to provide information about these organisations. The club needs a database that can be searched when members ask for information. For example, a member might be interested in sports activities, voluntary work or arts organisations.
At the launch of the new club, the database will be accessible on a computer connected to the internet. You will demonstrate how it can be used by running sample searches. The results will be displayed as on–screen reports.
Before you continue, make sure that you have completed the section Creating a database.
Design four searches that will produce useful examples for the demonstration. You are not expected to produce more than four.
For example, all sport organisations, all those concerned with wildlife, all uniformed organisations which run local groups.
You must include the website address for each organisation in your search results.
Check that your results are as you expect, including the correct fields, and save the results with suitable names so that you can find them later.
You must save evidence of your searches, showing the search criteria you used, for your eportfolio.
Produce reports using your search results.
Save/export your reports as html web pages for use at the launch.
