Make Space

D201 Using ICT Summative Project Brief 2006.

INTRODUCTION

"Our research shows that six out of ten teenagers and eight out of ten parents think that there is not enough for young people to do in the area where they live."

Anne Longfield, Chief Executive, Kids' Clubs Network

"If we are to tackle the problems that arise from anti-social behaviour and crime it is essential that we provide young people with things to do."

The Rt Hon Tony Blair, MP

What do teenagers do after school? Where do they go? What else could be provided?

Make Space is a national campaign aimed at 11 to 16 year olds. A Make Space Club provides activities and space to ‘chill out’.

In this project you will produce some materials for the launch of a new Make Space Club. You will choose an activity for the club and promote it in your materials.

You will present these materials in an eportfolio, along with some supporting evidence of your work on the project. Creating your eportfolio is an important part of your project and you should allow plenty of time for this in your project plan.

So, what should you do first?

Find out what the main aims of the project are by reading the page Club Launch.

What next?

Read the whole project brief to find out what you have to do.

Make sure you understand what all the symbols mean. These are explained on the home page.

Now you should be ready to start planning!
