SURVEY – Designing a questionnaire and spreadsheet

 

Create a questionnaire.

 

You must decide:

• how to ask each question so that you gather the data you need
• how to make the questionnaire easy to complete

Proofread your questionnaire and correct any errors.

 

Make sure that it works by using it to gather some test data. Save your finished questionnaire, with evidence of feedback from test users.

 

Design a spreadsheet to analyse the data. Think carefully about what you need to find out, for example:

• do boys and girls prefer the same activity?
• is their choice affected by their age?
• are people prepared to travel far enough to do the activity they say they prefer?
• are they prepared to pay enough to do the activity they say they prefer?

Test your spreadsheet using test data from your questionnaire.

 

As well as helping you to choose your activity, remember that some of the results will be used in your information point.

 

 

Carry out your survey and enter the data into your spreadsheet. Check that it produces all the information that you need

 

Save evidence of your spreadsheet in both value and formulae views. Do NOT include the spreadsheet itself in your eportfolio.

 

Save evidence of the results that you use to decide which activity to offer, including charts as well as figures.
